Looking at this marina for Mystic. We are coming back from Martha's and we have young kids so this is a good port for us. Kids and wife are looking for a pool. Brewers cant give me a reservation so they are out. Any feedback on this marina?

Great marina. Kids will love the pool. We stayed one night, en-route to Newport. Very central location, on West side of river. Best river in area if you have a dinghy. Don't miss out on buying a couple of their t-shirts. The only negative was they had us bow in, on a floating dock, and it was a PITA getting off/on the boat.

Thanks Art, yes we are travelling with a Dink.

You can stay directly at the Mystic Seaport. While there is no pool, you get access to the grounds after hours which is very cool. They also provide you the ability to get in and out of the seaport after it closes...

Seaport Marine does not have a pool, but it's a 2 minute walk to the center of town. Shipyard is a car ride or dinghy ride to town

We stayed there with Flotilla last summer for couple of days. It's a decent place with very accommodating staff. Pool is nice as well. If you're planning on using your tender, then being slightly away from town is not an issue. We've used ours to get to Seaport and the town, it's a pleasant ride. Marina has a dinghy dock, so no worries on keeping it at the bow. If I recall correctly they have fixed docks. I've used the help of low tide to deploy my tender and go under the docks. The one negative I remember was the shore power. It was tripping few times. However, the staff jump on it and made sure all was ok after few attempts on fixing it.

All in all, positive experience and I would go back there.

Staying right in Seaport Museum is pretty cool, if you wish to be right at the museum grounds. We've done it in the past. But, we also like staying remote marinas and use our tender to get around places. It's part of the experience and Mystic is a great place for exploring on dinghy.

Yes i got the same response from Brewers. We will be there on Aug 5th through the 8th. 2nd leg of our NE trip. 1st leg is Martha's Vineyard. What dates will you be there?
Also, i didnt forget about the sunshade Photos. It was finished but the rod holders are not the correct duty. We are changing them to a higher quality rod holder with a backign flange.

Looks like I will see the sunshade in person. We will be there Aug 6th through the 11th.

Rocket, where are you staying on the Vineyard?

Ok great, I'll be there with Russell (44da). Kids on deck are 4,6,9 years old. Looking forward to meet with you.

We are staying at Vineyard Haven Marina.

Great, you will enjoy it there. They usually have a few large 100+ yachts there so you will be with good company. Have you ever been to the Vineyard? We are about 10 min from the isalnd and are over there most weekends so if you want any idea of things to do or places to eat let me know.

That's great, my daughter is 9 and my son is almost 6 years old.

Oh you will definitely like our Crew!!!

THis is our 3rd year back. Originally stayed in Oak Bluffs, last year stayed at Vineyard Haven (needed a bit more Quiet). We usually rent a car and hit all the beaches, towns, etc. Menemsha is our favorite to grab some Lobster and hit the beach. if you have any suggestions, send them our way!!

If you are on your third year there you probably have heard of all these places. The lookout in Oak bluffs is our favorite restaraunt, it is just opposite the ferry terminal. A slice of life is good as well for lunch, it is at the end of Circuit ave on Oak Bluffs. Atlantic in Edgartown is really good but more high end restaraunt but kid friendly.
For entertainment if it not a beach day and you have a car there is an Alpaca farm in the middle of the island, it is interesting for the kids.

Our seasonal slip is at Mystic Shipyard West. We love the place! Great pool and grounds, south of the railroad bridge for a quick journey to the sound, nice owner (Jeff Marshall who is in slip A16), free paddleboard and kayak rentals, and a short dink ride into town. I wish it were floating docks but we have gotten use to the fixed and don't mind. Go check out Red 36 which opened last season. Its our new favorite waterfront dining spot. It is part of Seaside marine in downtown Mystic. We are in A6 if you want to come by and say hi.
