Considering a weekend in Mystic and bringing the kids to the seaport. Question is has anyone done the trip - and if so, should I be looking to stay at the Seaport marina (which I understand is north of the bridges) or should I be looking to stay before the bridges (Brewers or someplace else)? By then I should have the RIB on board so ferrying the family on the river is doable. Any comments appreciated. Thanks. :smt100

We take a weekend every year in Mystic. We stay at Brewers and if you have the RIB, doing the river is fun and traveling is convenient.

Good luck.

We took kids last year and stayed at the Seaport. Highly recommend it staff is super friendly and you get to explore after closing time. Walk into town is easy. Ride up the river was fun as well waiting for the bridge is no big deal. Enjoy!!

Both are great for different reasons. Try it one way this year and another way next year. I love mystic, I try to go once a year.

I live in Mystic and would stay south of the bridge. It's a great town and there are tons of RIBs on the river in the summer. The bridge only opens on the 40's so you are limited as to when you can get the boat past it.
