Mystic, CT Aquapalooza

Anyone headed there? Admiral and I were planning on heading down to Watch Hill/ Napatree area this weekend.
Wondering if it will be a madhouse down there???

Not sure exactly where on the river it is going to be. Is there going to be activities only on the water?

Years ago I used to occationally launch in Groton under that big bridge (can't remember the name of the bridge). It was a decent launch that was never busy.

Go out the Thames & it's a pretty easy ride over to Mystic.

I used to launch in Norwich most of the time (really nice launch), but two things:

1) it's a haul to go out the Thames from there (and the channel zig-zags)

2) When I was home this weekend I noticed that the parking lot where I used to leave the trailer is now a building. Dunno where you'd leave the trailer now.

That launch may work but parking 6 blocks away, how's that area?????
May try to launch closer to Napatree....

Did anybody end up going to this event? How was it? Trying to plan if it's worth it to go next year if they hold it in the same place.

We had thought about it but ended up launching a bit north of the event since we hadn't signed up before hand.
In talking with a friend who keeps his boat over in Noank and has seen the event before, he says it is usually a good time.
Stonington which is just north does a blessing of the fleet ceremony that involves numerous seafood venues, entertainment (bands, etc) on the same weekend so sounds like it would be a decent weekend
