Does anyone know where a water leak could be coming from that has my carpet saturated on my cabin floor in my 250 Sundancer ? I'm in Seattle , but I don't think it's the rain...really ! No visible window leaks ...could it be the sink water lines ? I'm confounded !

It could certainly be a fresh water leak. You should hear the fresh water pump kick on though. Are you taking showers in the head? If so it could be the shower sump pump not working.

Is your boat in the water?

Need more information.

Don't discount the windows. My 270 did the same thing and I found that the tabs that hold the porthole shut had loosened and didn't seal.

If your shower sump is under the stairs like my 280 check there. My A/C drain goes into my sump and a couple of years ago after 3 days at the marina my carpet was wet. I looked under the stairs where my garbage can is and the floating switch for the sump was clogged and didn't work. The sump overflowed and eventually seeped into my carpet.

+1. Start here. Check AC condenser, shower drain and out flow connections. Also check the neck of the pump, it's easy to crack the neck when making that out flow connection.

Pour some water in the sump box and watch the pump work, you'll get an answer pretty quick.

You asked "could it be the sink water lines?" Sure, but that is easy enough to eliminate by checking the carpet under the sink. That's what you are going to have to do.... Eliminate possibilities one by one. Look under the sink, check the sump box & pump under the steps, run water down the shower drain while watching the sump box. Is the carpet directly under the fridge wet? Eliminate the fridge from the equation. Then, after you have eliminated all the easy fixes, take a water hose out to the bow rail stanchions first then the windows, then the windshield base.

You say you don't think it's rain so maybe, with any luck, the source is indeed on the inside. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the advice...I did check around and eliminated everything I could..the water was never from the refrigerator because the carpet was dry in front of it. I checked the sump pump and didn't see any water leaking from the box under the steps...and I haven't used the shower since last summer. I finally checked one of the cabin windows and the starboard one did have a leak on the seal ...so, it appears that it was the rain, after all !
Go figure..we just had the most rain in March ever recorded in Seattle, so I guess it figures! It just wasnt' evident because every time I was on the boat, it wasn't raining...like a slow leak :)

It wasn't the sump pump...it turns out it was a leak coming through the starboard cabin window...thanks to our notorious northwest rain ! Thanks anyway !

Winner, winner, chicken dinner ! You were right..it was the starboard cabin porthole window that was leaking ....I thought I had checked it, but I took your advice and sure enough, it has a small trickle of water coming from the seal, so I tightened all the screws and it stopped ! It's funny where the water trail went..under the cabin upholstery , down the hull, under the head and onto the carpet ! Thanks again for the advice! I need covered moorage if this rain doesn't let up..well, summer is coming and finally some dry months ahead :)

It turns out it was a fresh water leak alright..from the skies ! It was rainwater leaking in through one of my cabin portlhole windows...problem fixed now. And yes my boat is in the water year round...and I don't use the shower, but thanks for the interest ! I need covered moorage :)

It turned out to be rainwater leaking into one of the cabin portlhole windows...we've had a really rainy March ! Fixed the seal and now all is dry...yayyy...thanks for your advice!

Small world. I have a 98 250DA. Its on a lift. Water system shut off. Carpet always wet in cabin. Been raining every day here in Tampa area. And all my port holes leak. At least the one in the head drains into the sink. Looking for a thread on window seal replacement

Hi all I am having similar issues with my 250/98 I think a few of the windows are leaking between hull and internal vinyls, I think water in getting to padding under vinyls and traveling all over the place. , so far have removed resealed and replace toilet window am hoping this will fix the problem.

Mine is not leaking..dry. 96 250 but I want to get it very wet..with a power washer..where/how does the water get out of the cabin?

I have a 2000 270 sundancer. I was finding water soaking the carpet On the lowest level floor. After many swear words and driving myself crazy, I finally found out (I think) where it was coming from. All 4 of my porthole windows were leaking. I used some clear silicone around the outside window seals and still had some water. So the water was coming in the windows themselves. Each black latch on the inside has a small black set screw (difficult to see) that can be tightened. I turned these a couple turns, and this forces the windows tight against the seals. No more water so far in the last month.
