Mystery near transom door

Hi I have the 2006 38 sundancer..have not had for long. It has some kind of a small panel near the transom door. Any thoughts on what it might be?

That is an electrical switch with the switch cover pulled out/off. If you take the panel off, what is behind it? It controls something. Here is a picture of a carling switch body. You can buy the covers separately:

Switch in that location is typically for the cockpit lighting that is located near the floor. (those small lights)

Until recently I had the same boat. Yep it’s the cockpit courtesy light switch but missing the cover as mentioned above.

Covers are about $5-$10 and can be found at www.searay-parts.com or even amazon. They just snap on.

Juggernaut1, I am so sorry to hear you no longer have your 380. I must have missed something on CSR did you get a different boat. Always appreciated your post, I have made may upgrades on our 380 based on your experience.

Hi Pat,

Glad to hear my posts were useful to yourself and hopefully others too. My next improvements were going o be Veem props and a watermaker. Obviously they won’t happen as we sold our boat to an older couple on our jetty at the end of our summer holidays. I don’t have another boat, or are looking for another big boat at this stage.
