My baby girl has just turned 18. Well Sunday.

So Sunday I took her and 3 friends out for Champagne Brunch on the boat.

In Australia, particularly NSW, this week for her and her friends is their last week of School, Year 12, so final exams for University. Her last day was Monday, some of her friends was this afternoon.

So because of study, exams etc, she had her party tonight.

We have had 60-70 18 year olds her tonight, with their first let loose after a month of exams!

Only two vomits, one in the house and one in the driveway.

I didn't go into the warehouse today, wish I had, I haven't stopped! Fairy lights, cleaning, cooking, cleaning, ice, etc etc.

Party went from 5-10. We have I think 6 girls sleeping here.

I am absolutely knackered, I am sitting here coming to grips with the fact my baby is no longer my baby, and having a scotch to soothe everything that aches !

We had our neighbours two doors down here, the girls grew up together. But both parents are police officers!

Daughters friends are a good group, but it was nice just to have that bit of security !

Well, you are half way there! 18 is the new 12 and 30 is the new 21 so it seems. I don't remember needing much help by the time I turned 18 but times have changed. Our granddaughter turns 17 next month and it seems she was only 2 a few years ago!

Your right, at 18 I was a soldier!

I had my 16th Birthday 4 weeks after I joined, sometimes I think I was forced to grow up too early!

Congrats on raising her to a point where she enjoys a champagne brunch on board!

My kids are all in their 30's and one thing I've learned....child support, in one way or another, never ends. But the flip side of that is one of a parent's greatest joys is being able to help out your kids, even when they don't ask for it.
