Looks very nice. A lot of the early 80's had the same striping color scheme. Please post some more pictures if you get a chance.

Great looking boat there. I see the MN registration no.s, I assume this is a pre-delivery photo. Are you also located in MN? I'm in the Twin Cities area and had purchased a 1978 225 Overnighter/Weekender (whatever they called them) a little over a month ago. I've had it out 4 out of the past 5 weekends. Spent the long Labor Day weekend out on Mille Lacs. I love my Sea Ray more and more each time I use it. These classics are awesome boats.

Actually it is a pre=delivery Pic.. I'm in Michigan. Had her out 2 times now runs like a champ.. Used uship.com to deliver the boat sweet deal $450 for delivery from Minn to Grand Haven Mi...

Very Nice .... looks to be in great shape.

Would love to see more pics.

Ive got an 85 AJ 255 I bought this summer and im loving it.

Great fishing and cruising boat.

That pic look familiar .... did you buy it on ebay??

Very nice looking AJ, I have an 82 with 330. Always liked
the lines of them. Been very happy with mine, am sure you will be too.Enjoy.

How do these 255 amber jacks move with a single 350. There is one for sale in my area. I see so many with twins I would like to know how they move with a single.

My 85 AJ 255 has an 03 350 MAG MPI (300 HP) with 400 hours with a bravo 1 OD and i cruise between 25-28 MPH and will top out at 35 MPH.

Gets on plane easy enough but i do need to keep the RPM's up over 3000 to keep her up. I usually cruise at around 3700 rpm's.

A few new Pictures of My 83 Amberjack.. I cleaned it up a little and changed the Port Windows.. Let me know what ya think of the windows.. Also did a trailer Mod. Didn' like the rollers so I extended it and changed to bunks.. Boat guides to help on the Load side of things.. Wife likes them...Also went to a 205 tire so it would fit in the garage..

Nice !!
I noticed that the oval-shaped Sea Ray plates were missing from the hull sides. You can get a pair of them for less than $30 delivered off of e-Bay.

Yup, Bought the Plates last Year Around August off ebay... Need some of the others though.. v255 ect...

That is one beautiful 25.5 Amberjack! I grew up on a 1985 25.5 Amberjack. Single screw 454. Wish it had twins, because the boat was a pig. Despite lack of power, I loved the open cockpit. I can't tell you how many fish I have landed on that boat in the last 10 years. My grandfather still has it to this day. Unfortunately, the condition isn't close to what yours is in. I wish I had the time to do a restoration like that, but with my 30', I have a hard enough time keeping mine in ship shape.

May I ask what has been done recenetly to get it looking as it does? Also, do you have pictures of the cockpit / cabin?
