I bought from another member on the board. Drove down to TN to get it.

Then I bought a bunch of accessories online from BOE marine.

I took the boat across the bay bridge to BOE's stevensville MD location to have my accessories installed.

I Love my new whaler. I will need to take more pictures because there were other things done I haven't shown off yet.

BOAT = Break Out Another Thousand......

Looks Great!

Luke,

Whaler still looks great!

I thought the Whaler steering wheel center cap was in the wheel. Did I lose it on the way home? And, I'm in Florida this week…..do you want me to see if I can find one?

Its OK, it blew out on the trip home. I found a 2 1/2" cap on eBay and installed it already. Thanks for the offer. The boat runs great!

Glad you are enjoying it. She was a great little boat for us ……..I loved everything about the 15 Dauntless, except when you are running 45 mph and run over a big boat wake!

I love it. I have the little brother (13' Super Sport) of yours and we've had a blast towing it to distant lakes.

With that 75 Merc on the back end it should really move out. Ours has a 40 and it will hit mid 40's with just me in it.

Just bought a 1998 13 Dauntless w/40hp, less then 20hrs on entire boat, looking forward to this!

Thanks, I'm excited to have it to explore areas I can't take the Sea Ray. Here's the new cap for the steering wheel.IMG_20150406_233556571.jpg

I really like the wireless trolling motor. It was breezy last weekend and it was nice controlling the boat from anywhere. It has a small remote like a key fob and a wireless foot pedal in the bow. With 54 lbs thrust it could move against the wind and I could keep parallel to the wall easily.IMG_20150406_234657870.jpg

The pro mariner charger is nice too. When I get home I just plug it in and it automatically charges and maintains the batteries.

Added a set of taco clamp on rod holders. And that cooler still has 1/2 bag of ice from Saturday, granted its not that hot, but still not bad.

Scott we need pictures or it didn't happen!

Luke that looks great. Too bad you had to buy it from such a rookie boater  but I'm sure you'll be able to fix all the broken stuff soon.

BTW I like the looks of that wheel.

Congrats!! how come the previous owner didn't have all those toys for it?

My first taste of boating came from a late 70s Boston Whaler. A girl I was dating father owned it and we used it all the time. I would guess it was about a 16 footer. Had a center console and seat in front of that. there was a lot of wood (seats, helm). Had an 85 hp motor and would run like a scalded cat. I loved going out on that boat. Got me hooked from day one.

I am going to help Luke with this one…….

I was the previous owner. I found the Dauntless on a freshwater lake in Arkansas. I looked like a backwoods hick had dragged a magnet thru a West Marine store. There were rod holders, trolling motor, 3 depth transducers, cup holders, compass, low end VHF and about everything else you can think of screwed to the console and deck. Like Luke, I bought the Whaler to explore areas I can't get to in a Sea Ray that draws 4' of water, so I restored the boat to original condition just as it left the Whaler factory. If we fish here in Florida, I go with one of the charter captains we have become friends with…….I'm "crew" and run their boats part of the day for them and get to fish enough to satisfy our wants, so I didn't need the fishing gear.

I know Luke got a great boat and I know the Merc is "right" because we went thru an ethanol fuel system clean-up and rebuilt the carburetors after discovering phase separation in the built in fuel tank. I hope he enjoys it as much as we did……..

I did read above that you were previous owner. Probably should have put a smiley thing on my post. didn't realize you restored to original shipment form.

Not to mention the nice new fuel lines. I added the water separating fuel filter for an added layer of protection.

I had BOE install everything because I wanted it done right. Everything's clean and neat like the job they did on my Sea Ray. I would have had a rats nest on my hands if I tried to wire all that stuff up myself. Its well worth the money to do it right the first time. Plus I feel uncomfortable cutting up a nice clean console.

Mission complete. My whaler is working out great for me. Thank you Frank, for selling me your boat.IMG_20150412_180245750.jpg

Luke,

I hope you have as much fun with her as we did.

We used the Whaler to explore parts of our bay here in Panama City that I haven't seen since we went to larger boats that draw 4 ft of water. We also discovered that she makes a great tow boat for water toys when the kids were in town. Everything you've ever heard about how solid and indestructible Whalers are is true. I think the Dauntless with its v-entry is a much more satisfactory boat for choppy water than the older cathedral hull and you made a great choice. Thanks and enjoy!

Luke,

Are you in Belmont Bay in those pics? Hope to see you soon. I'm splashing this weekend.
