Boat Info
"Volare", a 2003 Sundancer 410, with original Raymarine electronics.
Engines
2, 350 hp, Cat 3126's
Closed escrow on Tuesday. Couldn't really believe it finally happened. Spent all day today moving a ton of junk on board. Used as broker Newport Boats in Newport Beach Ca. They were great, as was seller. Used Quinn power systems of Whittier and Kells Christian Marine Surveyor from San Diego. They were all great.

My boat's new name will be "Volare". I'm keeping her in Marina del Rey for a while, then taking her up to San Fran. Learning location and operation of all the systems will tax what little brain power I have left.

I want to thank each of you who answered my various questions during my 8 month quest to learn about 40+ foot Sea Rays. I also want to thank each of you who answered other people's questions. I learned so much here!!!

I still can't believe I have a boat again!!! Yea!

It will be great to have another DA owner in the bay. When do you think you will get the boat up this way?

We bought our 2003 460da back in June and have been loving it!

Hopefully we can get a group of boats together for a cruise or raft-up...

Happy Thanksgiving...

Contests! Where in MDR are you keeping it before the trip to SF? Will you be doing a shake down cruise to Catalina?

My family and I took out "Volare" for the first time today. "At's a bigga boat." Leaving the dock was sketchy. The fuel dock was closed and we had very little fuel so we practiced mock docking at various buoys for two hours until we had the nerve to actually do it for real. A little cross current, a little head wind and a few paddle boarders, but with my two older sons jumping onto the dock and my wife throwing lines to them, we managed to bring her back safely and not hurt anyone. Then we all collapsed. I hope this gets easier.

Congrats on the new boat contingent on posting pictures:wink:

It will get easier. Then you'll want 20

more feet.

I hope this photo of Volare comes through.

Congrats - very nice.
And it will get easier. We went through the sweaty palms every docking last season (Got her the end of Aug 09). This season, after vacation where we were in different marinas most every day for 2 weeks its way easier - practice is the key. Now my 15 year old son is docking her. Enjoy.

Right now she seems big to dock, but in a short time you will love docking her. My 410 is my fourth boat, my biggest boat by 10 feet and my first with diesels. This is the easiest docking boat i have ever owned. Just tell her wat you want her do with the gears, and she responds immediately. I look forward to docking her. Not always perfect, but always in control.

Assuming it is the Monaco style, Please show us some pics of your monaco cockpit seats.

P.S. I have major stripe envy!

The striped seats were a separate option on the Monaco series. I don't believe he has them. I have an offer in on the same boat, same stripe and everything and it has standard Sea Ray colors other than the stripe. I hope to join Merlin in the next week or so and maybe we can even run up the coast together!
