:smt038 Thanks to all the great advice thus far I have successfully negotiated the first part of the journey to my (new to me) 380 Sundancer. I took the advice of many who thought I should look farther North for a boat. I did, and I found one just a little more north in North Carolina. Its a year newer than the 2001 of my previous post and loaded! I head to N.C. next week for survey and sea trial.......I am PSYCHED! Please keep the advice coming! Thanks.

Hope it goes well. Whereabouts in NC? Have you found a surveyor yet?, might be able to recommend one if not.

Thanks. I guess Im all set with a surveyor. I also was provided with the survey that was done for the last purchase of the boat. The boat is in Chocowinity.

If you "think" you are set up with a survey it must be with the selling broker. If so, do you think that is the best idea? I would think you would want to use an independant surveyor such as the one offered.

I'm sure there are no dishonest surveyors out there....right?

lol....yeah I,m sure there has never been any kickbacks to surveyors...RIGHT! My surveyor is independant and hired by me outside the brokers knowledge.

Good luck with the survey!

That's a great year

Congrat's. If something does not work out a friend of mine has a 2001 380 with 350 Cats 500 hours for sale. Fresh water until 3 month's ago. Excellent condition. I bought my 410 from him and it was a great boat and a great deal.
He's asking 133k.

Way to go! :smt038 See....you don't even need us. :smt089

Oh yes I certainly will need you guys in the very near future. From what I am gathering, this is the easy part. Maintaining the boat is the real challenge.
