I took a little ride on the Harley today to Florida Nat'l Cemetary where my dad is buried ( 3 yrs. ago today we lost him) to visit and drop off some flowers. At Christmas time there put up thousands of wreaths at selected burial sites. The place really moves me everytime I go visit him. American Flags everywhere!! At this time of the year, Christmas/New years, I want to thank all my fellow veterans for serving (I served also in the U.S.A.F. 8 yrs. including Desert Storm), thank you all, everyone of you for protecting all of us at home!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Lance, you're welcome, and likewise thank you for your USAF time. I did 7.5 years in the USAF during Vietnam but the ones I really feel a debt of gratitude to are the Wounded Warriors.

It's nice to see that you still honor him...

Thanks to all who have or currently serve. You make the little things we discuss possible to even discuss. My hat is off to each and all!!! MM

Yes, your absolutely right Gofirstclass, and I also forgot to mention those who are still serving, THANKYOU!!!! And thankyou for serving Gofirstclass, and Merry Christmas to all!!

He was my father and best friend, we go to pay are respects every couple of months, and it's a nice 85 mile trip on the Harley. It's a cool experience riding the American Iron into a place where American Soldiers lay to rest. :~)

I am not a veteran but, I. Am very thankful for all who are and who have served our country... I lost my dad long agobut I will always have the memories... great post thanks for including us...

Thank you, the fathers and all CSR Members out there who have served from this Vet..and Merry Christmas.

Likewise to you and yours, Lance and all the other vets.

Four years active duty in the USCG during peace time always seems like a small measure of "duty" in comparison to those who served and sacrificed during war, but I'm still proud to have worn a uniform in service of the country.

I live in the Tampa Bay area and have gone to Bay Pines Cemetary. They do the vets proud too. One day i will head to the Florida Natl. Thanks to all vets for your service. Ive got 23 years so far with the Navy and no plans to quit.

Nice post Lance....I was in Vietnam, USMC, ....I, just so happen, to be managing a project on a large Army / Air Force base presently.....being on base has really brought all of this (Vietnam and the present "wars") to the forefront of my thoughts everyday.....these guys, and, gals, have made quite a sacrifice, to say the least, especially those that have returned KIA, or are lying in the hospital here, or are just walking around confused.....I don't believe most of the population has a clue about all of this..... and consequently, not intentionally, really understands the price that is paid, up close and personal, by a few, to protect all of the rest of us.......good post, thanks for thinking about it......

Lance, my thanks to your dad, our US Veteran, and to you for your support to him and your service as well. Serving someone else other than ourselves is an honor. The sacrifices we make for one another is what makes us who we are. Not forgetting what the veteran has done for us - is the honor we appreciate the most.
Merry Christmas everyone. Happy Holiday as well.
