Sometimes, people/companies surprise you!
Here's what happened...
Purchased an "07" 260DA from dealer not to be named in Norwalk. Well, all was great. Fast forward to this spring...complete bottom paint failure. This was addressed with "Norwalk" on April 3rd. After a couple days of going back and forth, they agreed to "stand by their work" and fix the issue. Well, all work was scheduled to be done on April 27th..Received confirmation e-mail...the whole deal. Then, on April 26th, I get a call from the A$$**** GM of this lousy facility telling me that they are not responsible and will not perform the work. Now a month had gone by and this was a month of lost time as I could have been making alternative arrangements. Total BS job by this dealer whom I will NEVER EVER be associated with again.
Now the GOOD part...
A not to be named SeaRay dealer in WESTBROOK, CT (where I have my boat), knew what had happened. He calls me out of the blue on Saturday and tells me that what happened wasn't right, he talked to his guys, and will be performing the work on my boat free of charge. He finished today and it looks great. This dealer had NO INTEREST OR LIABILITY in this issue. He just decided to show his character and do the right thing. My wife and I will be looking for a 380DA at the end of this season....this company that showed this amount of character and service will be getting my business.
Not too many companies out there that will step up to the plate, spend money on an issue that had NOTHING to do with them...just because it was "the right thing to do".
Just wanted to share this...
