I can understand alerting an agent now, but not the insurance company. There is a difference. Even if you don't have a paid claim, the second the insurance company gets involved it goes on your CLUE report. That can have a negative impact on your insurance score and lead to higher premiums.

Still waiting to hear from shop as to what they find, maybe the news will be good. Keeping my fingers crossed. I really appreciate all the input, this is really my first rodeo, gave up motircycles for boat so the grandkids could have fun. I will keep posting as I learn more

To the OP. This sucks for sure. But, rest assured, that once resolved it will be worth any money spent once you start building memories with the kids/grandkids. Im 40 now and my early days on the boat fishing with my grandfather are still extremely vivid. Dare I say...priceless. Now, Im a father of 2 young boys and Im giving them the same experiences.

Agree 100% . My wife and I have a 4 yr old and 11 month old and the many trips throughout the boating season are indeed priceless imo, even if we were unfortunate to have an unforeseen expense.
