Hi all,

Looking to do a short weekend trip (one maybe two nights), and not too far away from home port (Grand Haven). Are either Whitehall or Muskegon decent destinations for a short stay. I know things have changes, economically, in the last few years so I am looking for some up to date recommendations. We have two little kids so we need to keep them in mind. Thanks for any input.

Yes WhiteHall is Awesome, it's small town with actually two towns in one, Montague is right next door. You can use the city municipal Marina, they dredged this year and are at 6-9 feet deep. You can also call Crosswinds, they are next door to The City Municipal Marina and they have their own Restaurant. You can walk everywhere in WhiteHall, we do every weekend and we are slipped in Ellenwood, but we are out of space, thanks to the Floods...
There's Pekedills sandwich shop in town, damn they make great sandwiches and soup...try it out for lunch.
The city Marina also offers Gas, Diesel and what knots....You want Small town, Whitehalls your answer.

Boltman.

I agree with Boltman, this is our 18th summer on Whitelake, 16 at Crosswinds and 2nd at Ellenwood, both towns are great, there are enough resturants, stores, a couple of bars, parks, river to explore with dingy, Whitelake is an option to spend the day if the big lake does not cooperate. I would check out the Municipal

Ricochet where are you at ellenwood? We're at D dock slip 168 just as you turn the corner on D dock.
We Love it here though I don't know if the marina will make it , they're talking about selling it to someone else !!!!! Maybe then they'll put some money into it aye??
Come down and see us!!!
Ok saw that you're on C dock toward the end , we walk B dock on Saturday evening and seen your boat , stop by and say hello sometime ok????
