I am in the market for a new Multi-Tool-Knife as I have lost my original Leatherman. My original had a terrible grip or lack there of. I am looking to spend about a $100. I am sure many of you have these and use these aboard so I would like something convenient to boating needs.
I tried this one out today and really like the grip, lightweight and ease of use and it is kind of cool looking.

There are almost fifty different types of these tools at my local Bass Pro so I am open to suggestion.

I like the Gerber tools over the Leatherman...the big thing for me is the one hand opening and its ready to be used as pliers/wire cutters. Plus, they have one that is completely one handed, Gerber Freehand multitool.

I have a couple of different ones between the boat, house, car and tool box. I am not for the little tool bits that you can get for them, just something else to loose.

Wow! I guess I haven't looked in the multi-tool section in a while, I can't believe the selection. I'm in the wrong line of work, I need to be in the tool design line.

I went back to Bass Pro today and decided to stick with simple and lightweight and bought the Skeletool by Leatherman. The Gerber just did not have the solid built feel that the Leatherman possessed. Most of the tools just had too much crap and stuck me in the leg when in my pocket. I also liked the single handed knife opening of the Skeletool.

Have had a Leatherman Wave since they came out. Had to leave it at Logan in October when headed to Mexico for a wedding. Forgot I had it on. The security guy wasn't impressed until I gave it to him and said to keep it. I have been lost without it. Just ordered its replacement. Won't be without again.

I gave them to all my groomsmen in 99. They all still have them and use them daily.

Ironic I did the same back in 95' with my first wife. I just wish they would have used them to.........well you can imagine. Let me say I still hold a grudge a BIG ONE.
