Muffler repair

One of my muffler tops is coming apart causing water and of course odor. Has anyone ever succeeded in doing a repair and if so, how was it accomplished.

Once in an emergency that came up deep in the Gulf of Mexico on my sail boat, I used two part epoxy putty to form a seal over a opening crack in a fiberglas crack in a aqua lift muffler. I took the whole tube, but we made it back to the states without incident. The muffler was immediately replaced.

you can repair them no problem- but you must use fire retardent resin.
I have repaired dozens.

Is silicone fire retardant? The top has been secured with silicone and some screws through the top to the base of the muffler.
Can you suggest a fire retardant resin. Thanks
