For big time wakeboarders who can't have a dedicated tournament boat, sure. The higher pull angle is nice for doing tricks.
I removed the last tower that I had, and had the holes repaired. To me, they are the fad of the month, and you bump your head on them.

We put a tower on ours and love it, although we went a bit old school and mounted it backwards like the 2000's vintage sundecks because I wanted to keep my big bimini. It's very helpful to keep the wakeboard out of the boat, makes a nice grab handle when stepping on the swimdeck, its easier to get beginners up, and it has an anchor light on top so I don't need the pole.

Personally, i did not put speakers on ours so that we didn't have any head knockers and I was worried that speakers would draw the attention of thieves.

Mine is a Cuda tower from Big Air in Oklahoma. They were more on the budget friendly side like the monster towers. Nice people to work with as well.

We love our wakeboard tower on our SPX190. Does help the kids wakeboard but we really got it because we liked having the tower to hold on to and the large Bimini.

Thanks for the info. Still wondering about the installation. Will have to remove a number of things just to get access to the mounting area.

Our boat fiberglass shop installs aftermarket towers for $500-$750 depending on access. I made a mock-up of how I wanted it on the big air website and they got it on in 2 days. Do have them run the power if you have an anchor light while they are installing tower. Is far easier than taking it apart later.
