Moving to Western PA

We're moving to western PA (Cranberry) from southern Maryland. We have a 98-290 DA to take with us. I currently do not have a trailer or a vehicle to pull a loaded trailer with. SO, I'm looking for recommendations on boat moving companies as well as someplace up there we can keep/use the boat. I'm toying with purchasing a trailer as that would allow me to keep it home when not in the water but I'd be at the mercy of someone with a truck that can handle the 14K +/- pounds... or at least renting one, if that's possible.

Yikes...not a whole lot up there if you don't count the black bear and deer. You're only about 1 1/2 hours from Lake Erie I understand they have some pretty nice marinas there, Ive heard people mention Perry Marina I Googled it and it looks pretty nice.

Looks like you will be slipping the boat quite a ways from Cranberry if you don't have a tow rig. Don't know of any big water for your SD close by. Where are you planning on boating? You may need to invest in a F350 size truck and comparable trailer.

There are several places in and around Pittsburgh to keep your boat on one of the rivers, but you are most likely used to the big water of the Chesapeake, so Lake Erie out of Erie PA may be more to your liking, but it is nearly a 2 hour ride up I-79.
Unless their situation has changed, the folks that bought my 330 live in the Pittsburgh area and keep the boat in Erie. Tom's screen name here is Divot, very nice people, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind answering a few questions if you want to PM him.

Actually, most of my boating has been in the rivers, not so much on the bay. An F350 and a trailer... that's what I'm talkin' about... probably not in the immediate plan though... I'd like to boat on the Ohio and tributaries... may need a different boat but not at a point I can sell this one yet...

The Allegheny Reservoir is just east of you.....very nice and Lake Erie is the big pond with nice Marinas at both, Mike.
