First, welcome to paradise! I live in St. Pete and have a 380DA. St. Pete/Tampa Bay is a great place to boat!

If you want a bayside marina in a central location (close to downtown and the interstate) then look into The Harborage at Bayboro (www.harboragemarina.com). They have a protected basin, floating docks, facilties, etc.

Another bayside option would be The Vinoy. The Vinoy is most likely more expensive as I believe it includes access to the club at the hotel. They have new fixed concrete docks and are located right in downtown. http://www.vinoyclub.com/marina.html

Scott, Again, welcome to paradise. We live in the Oldsmar area which is at the top of Tampa Bay. We love the Gulf side of the bay area. We keep our boat at Island Yacht Club in Clearwater. It is a private, gated marina on Island Estates. The really nice feature is that it is covered, which here in Fl makes a huge difference. The marina is nice, it is just a marina, no pool, restaurant etc. There are showers, laundry facility, and pump out at the slips. The rates are pretty reasonable, you would be renting from a private owner. They do not have a web site but the address is 200 Windward Passage, Clearwater, FL. Another covered marina in St Pete is Maximo Marina. I have not been there in probably about 20 yrs, so I am not sure what it is like anymore, but it was a pretty nice marina and I do not think it has changed much. www.maximomarina.com.
