It funny how some of life's biggest changes come on a whim.

I really had no plans to sell this year. I finally finished all my little nagging projects last fall, the detail guy was scheduled and the boat was going to be in tip top shape this year. It is in tip top shape this year.

And then hen I got bored at work one day and started window shopping online.

I saw a listing for a boat that interested me so I shot off an email. That led to a trip to indiana for the night. On the way home I started looking up comps and saw another listing in Ohio. The next weekend I took a trip to Ohio and the next day tossed out an offer just to test the waters.

We were contemplating moving up, but more or less testing the waters. And then... Offer accepted with no counter. Uh oh.

So the Dancer gets listed on Craigslist to see if there is interest and the phone starts ringing off the hook. Second showing brought an all cash offer without much haggling and the phone kept ringing with people asking to be put on a wait list.

Here I am getting ready to splash on Thursday and the new owner picks her up on Monday. It's been a surreal whirlwind and it was truly a shot from the hip. Timing and money just happened to align so... I guess this is happening.

We will be leaving the Sea Ray brand for now. This is our second one going back for the past 7 or 8 years. Sea Ray has served us well, and I will truly miss them.

I've been through every nook and cranny of this boat. I have pictures, receipts and a few scars to prove it. It's been a labor of love that the next owner will now enjoy. I'll keep the pictures and the memories though.

This community has given me an opportunity to learn, share and even meet a few new people. I hope I've contributed a small part of the knowledge I've gained back to some of you.

Its been fun. I guess now it's time for a change.

Monday is is going to be a long, bittersweet day...

............so....what are you buying?

Nice!

Congrats! No need to move on though....I'm no longer a Sea Ray owner at the moment but they still accept me here :) CSR is a great boating resource regardless of the brand.

I'll still hang around. I'm sure sooner or later a SeaRay will find its way back to me.

Thanks Quint. I might have to talk to you about some of that decking when the dust settles on this purchase.

Sounds good.

Nice boat, I looked at a few of them before purchasing the 330. They are a spacious boat indeed. Enjoy!

That's the best way to move up, when you aren't expecting it or working too hard at it.

Several years back my wife and I were putting out of the marina in our '88 300WE without a thought in the world of trading. By the end of that day I had a full price contract on my 300 and placed a contract on the '93 400 Express. We kept the 400 for another 10 great years and never looked back.

Here's hoping you'll have the same enjoyment! Congrats!

Last time I bought a boat I did it all wrong. It was high stress and I chased it. This time feels much more natural and we have reasonably covered all the bases.

So far, so good. Hopefully a done deal by next week.

As of today, I'm no longer a SeaRay owner. The boat surveyed perfectly and the new owner took possession right away.

The survey and sea trial of the new boat was completed successfully last weekend. It's just a matter of paperwork now and it will be a done deal.

This deal took longer than expected but every time I decided to follow the original plan, it was the right choice. Thorough, systematic decisions and a full structural and mechanical survey on both boats. Everyone knows exactly what they are getting and there were no surprises. There was plenty of temptation to rush, but knowing without a doubt exactly what I'm getting eases the pain of seeing the Sundancer go.

Even though we are getting a new boat, I will miss owning a SeaRay.

Congrats & best of luck with your new boat!
