First time posting on here. Hello everyone, I have had my 1990 220 (24') Sundancer for two years now. Battery switch is a pain to access in the engine compartment and have seen modifications to move it to the cockpit. I know Marine electricians are pricey but have any of you done this mod yourself and not screwed it up? I am not confident with such work just yet. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. Most battery switches are pretty simple to work on and as long as you leave your terminals OFF the batteries until the last step there should be no reason for concern. Make a diagram of where each cable attaches and where it runs to and take pictures if you have a digital camera. Disconnect the batteries before you start work and don't reconnect them until you are certain that the new, longer cables are attached to exactly the same points as the old shorter cables. The rest of the job is just a process of running cables, attaching connectors, securing the connectors to the switch terminals and the batteries, and tiewrapping the runs up to make 'em look neat. You could also try running one cable at a time to the new location and lable each end of each cable, new and old, in numeric order as you run them. DON'T CONNECT THE BATTERIES UNTIL THE LAST STEP. Hope this helps some. Good luck.
