I hesitated to post this for fear that everyone would think I'm a Redneck but the one thing I miss most about my 26'er is my BBQ Grill. I've seen one boat at my marina in the 20ft range with a grill mounted at the center/top of the transom. Is there anyone out there with ideas (lashings:smt043) about mounting a grill on a boat of this size? My thoughts have been to just forget about it or mount a flush fitting on starboard side. Any pics out there to share? Or should I just settle for packing sandwiches? Go easy on me...

I'm starting to miss the big boat.:smt089

Jump over to the sport boats thread, a few days ago I posted a similar question and got lots of help. Good pics and descriptions. Magma Grills seems to be the concensus, they are on the web.

Not sure what type of space you have in the engine room, but I had enough room to put a secondary mount down there for the grill. No box needed. Just a mount attached to hold the grill in an area of free space. I never liked the idea of a grill attached topside while running around all day. This way I only pull it out when it gets used, then stow it back down below. (AND yes, I do not store the LP tank down there :) )

I had flush rod holders installed on the back of my 270 SLX. I then use the heavy duty rod holder mount for my magma grill. You can run the boat with grill in place and also it is easy to remove if you want to leave it at the dock.

Here's where I store mine in the bilge. Its tight, about an inch clear around the grill, but it doesn't rub against the genny or heat exchanger. Stays put well. Used a mount against the side of the Genny deck.

I think on the smaller boats, this works well. I had it on my 230OV and we stowed it alongside the sleeper seats when underway with a nice canvas cover.

My only complaint about that one is it is an accident waiting to happen. Skin a knee or something on the nub that remains when the grill is removed.

I prefer the flush mount... http://www.magmaproducts.com/Produc...nting/Gas005_120/A10-121/A10-126/a10-126.html

Bought one, but can't come to grips with a location and the need to put a hole in the boat. It has too many already :smt001

The one I have there in the photo actually doesn't have the newer buttons. Mine had the pin to hold it in place. So I posted the newer version, but either way, if you look close to where I mounted it, it's adjacent to the "gunrail"(gunwhale). It was never a trip hazard.
