Mounting a new TV

Hey everyone, can you handle another TV mounting question? The forward stateroom in my 390 MY has a 13" Toshiba CRT TV/DVD combo that is destined for the dumpster. I don't have a good picture handy, but the picture below is identical to my setup. The opening for the space where the TV sits is 15-3/4" x 15-3/4", and the TV seems to be mounted on a piece of 1/2" plywood or particle board with a black finish and is secured with two screws toward the front so it doesn't slide out.

What I would like to do:

- Remove old TV/DVD combo
- Install an articulating arm TV mount to the inside of the cabinet, probably on the left side
- Find a Blu-ray player that fits in the space and mount it to the board that formerly held the Toshiba combo
- Find a LED TV in the 19-24" size range and mount it to the articulating arm

My biggest question is will the existing cabinetry support an articulating arm TV mount securely? I assume it's particle board or plywood. I know a 19" LCD is pretty light, but of course everything in the marine environment gets extra stress and you never know when a kid is going to turn a TV into a pull-up bar. The better articulating arm TV mounts have adjustable tension, so I should be able to keep the TV from flopping around as long as the base is securely mounted somehow. Anybody have suggestions for me?

Add 2 wood cross members attaching to the inside of the cabinetry with aluminum 90* angle. I did the same job on my salon and fwd state room with a fixed mount tv. I can snap a few pics tomorrow if you need.

I think I know what you mean, but would love to see a photo. That may be better than my idea.

I'd like to see those pictures too. My salon TV is a flat panel on an articulating arm already, but the TV's in the forward and aft berths are still the old tube type TV/VCR combos, and I really don't need them to articulate since I can access the backs of them through other panels if I need to. In fact, I'd rather they be fix mounted.
