Got the magma kettle grill....discussed here 2 weeks ago......I have it mounted OB starboard stern flagpole.

Hot dogs....great. some hamburgers.....greasy mess! 4 burgers and the little drip plate is overflowing

So I'm guessing I gotta grill in an aluminum pan?

Or pre grill burgers.......?

Another? .....how to clean the plate on bottom.....when cold its paclked with solid soap like fat! Gross

Line the plate with aluminum foil. When cool peel and then throw away. Reline and you are ready to go again.

I rarely if ever cook burgers on mine for that reason.......big mess.

Beef kabobs. Lean cuts of beef are not nearly the mess of hamburgers. I have had best luck with "Bubba Burgers" when I do grill hamburgers. Seems less grease, better flavor, sure easier to prepare.

low fat hamburger... 93/7... or better yet, steaks!

Yeah, fatty burgers are a pain. They splatter all over the place, too. Most of the time, regardless of what's cookin', I lay a doubled up layer of the "heavy duty" tin foil on the grilling grate. You don't get the "lines" on what you're cooking, but clean up takes 2 seconds. I figure that's a fair trade off.

Kettle for steak cooking and Catalina for everything else!

This is what we do problem solved.
