So last week we stayed on a mooring in Montauk. We ran the genny in the morning and the afternoon. It was warm during the night and I couldn't use my CPAP, so sleeping sucked. Last night we stayed on a mooring and decided to run the genny all night. Had a/c and was able to use my CPAP. I slept great. The question I have is, am I bothering the other boaters in the mooring field with my genny running all night? What is right and what is wrong?

In anchorages I will run it if ac is needed. I do have a dc power supply for my cpap though. You may want to check and see if it's an option. I use a resmed device.

Get a portable inverter for the CPAP. If its hot enough to need AC I run the genny. That's what its there for.

You'll only annoy the sailboaters and there always annoyed anyway so, run it!

I've run my genny in quiet anchorages and noticed that its not really audible beyond several meters when I approach from the dinghy. So not sure how much of an annoyance it is to others.

I'd run it, that's why you have it. I also find that once I'm "down below" I can't really hear much of anything other than water lapping against the hull so if it was me sitting next to you, I wouldn't even hear your genny when I head off to sleepy land.

Get a note from your doc stating that you must run the genny for medical reasons! ;-)

Run it!!

There only 2 things I run. 1 is my Honda EU2000 on my swim deck. 2 is from the cops!

You're probably safer running the generator on the swim platform these days :wow:

I make sure I have my full enclosure up and windows zipped in so the exhaust doesn't come in when I'm sleeping.

Or maybe you don't put yourself in a position where you have to run from the cops... of if you find yourself in that situation you simply comply. :wow:

Looks like all this guy did was go to work. He didn't put himself in a position, or start any trouble. He just tried to do his job and when the police showed up he again tried desperately to comply....still shot by police. :smt101

SMH!!!

I upgraded to a two stage genny muffler I researched on CSR and it is considerably quieter so I can run it now with no guilt!
