Got a question I need some help with. When I bought my boat the fuel gauge had a little moisture behind the glass but it was readable. Now that I have owned it for a few months I am getting moisture behind a few more of the smaller gauges. I have poked around behind the dash but can't see a vent valve or plug on any of the gauges.

I am in southern Alabama so moisture and humidity are just a way of life but I was hoping there would be a way to clear the gauges up a bit without replacing them. Any ideas?

I have the same problem from time to time. I leave the running light on until they clear can take 5 hours some time. Does not stop the problem but cures it.

this is going to sound crazy, but if you take a hair dryer and heat the gauges up, it gets rid of the moisture. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop it from happening!

took my boat out last weekend in Miami, 2 storms hit us and the gauges fogged pretty bad. the light on one has been out for a while, i'm guessing will just have to replace it?

I have a buddyt w/ an '09 Chapparal. His fogged up and Chap sent him new ones.

My original gauges had been repeatedly fogged and were dirty inside the glass, barely readable. I replaced them with sea ray gauges and they too will fog if we get caught in a rain. It has happened twice and so far they have dried out in the sun. My gauges in the cobalt are older, get wet all the time and have never fogged. When these current sea ray gauges get ugly and unreadable I plan on using after market gauges.

My gauges have a little black disk on the back with a slot in them, you can turn them with a screw driver and pull them out and just replace the bulb. Yours might just be a shorted from the moisture. Either way the bulbs are only a few bucks from Sea Ray.
