I saw this over on Panbo today:

Basically it's a MOB device that ties into AIS so I guess it has a GPS and VHF/AIS transmitter on it. Pretty cool... I like it because if someone falls off, then you don't have to alert the armed forces like with a PLB but can handle it with an onboard AIS receiver (which I have). I might load our inflatable life jackets with these. Can't seem to find them in the US though...
