I usually like to run the boat, turning and rocking to throughly mix the stabilizer and cleaners in the gas. I got them put in last week but did not get to run it and the lake is not amenable to a run this weekend, before she goes to bed Monday.

Does stabilizer distribute and blend easily and fully into the gas? Does fuel system cleaner distribute and blend easily and fully into the gas?

So I have been doing it just before haul out 20 years. Just the short trip to the lift. I usually top off after the stabilizer though. Never had an issue.

It likely didn't get into your fuel lines, carbs/injectors (not sure what you have). With ethanol-free you should be OK, anyway.

I added mine when I filled up a week before I had the boat hauled out. That way I was able to run it some and not have super full tanks in storage.

I never took my gas engine boats for a run after putting the stabilizer in, just let it idle at the dock for a couple minutes so it would distribute through the engine.

I always added Stabil to the tank before I added the gas. It mixes easily that way. We also had about a 6 mile run to the storage marina so there was never an issue concerning the stabilized fuel making it all the way through the system. Ran the genny too while making that run. That said, the comment about the solution achieving equilibrium is accurate and the suggestion to idle engines for awhile prior to shutting them down is a good one.

I put Stabil 360 in the tank before I run the engine on muffs to get the oil warm enough to change. Once it starts smoking, I know the Stabil has gotten through the whole fuel system. That said, it is probably overkill. All the marinas I get fuel from are certified Valvtech marinas.

Damn
How much do you add??

I can smell stabil in the exhaust, but don’t know I’ve ever noticed it smoking.

I add the amount recommended. It is really just a minor amount of smoke. Nothing near what you would see from fogging the engine. It isn't noticeable through the hub. The only way I notice it is when it comes out of the thru hull exhaust.
