Mixed feelings about the Oscar drama

A boxing friend of mine reminded me Smith did the Ali movie, and knows how to throw a punch, so if he really wanted to...

I too wonder if it was staged, but don't really care. Mostly because the cameras seemed to find him/his wife pretty darn quick after the joke.
 
IMO there is no way that was staged.

I think Chris had every laughing and when he made the joke about GI Jane, it took both Will and Jada some time to "get the joke". GI Jane was a lame movie where Demi Moore had shaved her head to look like Bruce I guess. You can see the look on Jada's face when the lights went on for her about the bald joke. Will clearly didn't get the joke until she let him know, and then he did what he did. Then his protection instincts took over his brain.

Chris' joke was in bad taste, but that's his schtick. No excuse to go up and slap someone on live TV. And he knows it. That is why he apologized to everyone except Rock.

The ghetto life has become an acceptable (and marketable) standard in our culture. Did the good folks at the Academy Awards forget that impressionable young people see this crap as the way to solve problems? This and the Super Bowl kopkillers halftime show are absolutely disgraceful. Morality in this country is at an all time low. Disgusting!

Pretty much, everything this "woke" crowd stands for is the exact opposite of what my parents guided me towards in order to be a good person and a good American and I imagine many of you had similar healthy upbringings. It's even gone to the point that even Walt Disney's dream of building a fairytale land of dreams for all the children of the world has been ruined by this bullshit. The wokesters are a small minority of the workforce there but their loud mouth and agreeable corporate leaders have soured the dream. Our Governor is not backing down thankfully and hopefully things can be righted when this mania passes. I cry for the young children of today. They cannot be called "boys and girls" by anyone working at Disney World. Unfathomable!

I 100% blame the parents. My kids would come home from school and tell us some crazy shit… we always took the time to explain both sides…. Proud to say we have four republicans

I should add to this…. The kids also had some incredible teachers and counselors at high school …they were often at the house for parties …. The teachers would tell us the behind scene stuff and it was basically they didn’t have the vote numbers… it was pretty interesting but not good

Ditto - do that currently and thankful our kid shares what's happening at school and in her life.
 
Can Hollywood be any more screwed up… why we are infatuated is beyond me
