missing props and shafts

:smt021when i bought my project boat it was missing props and shafts . anybody have any hanging aroud?? i thought it wasnt a big deal until i went to buy them . big money . would like to find some used ones if i can . :huh:

My best idea is to check out craigslist. Seems like everything is on there. I found most all the parts I needed there. Now the other Idea I have is not as easy. I drive a tractor trailer and I see tons of old abandoned boats in some small pockets near water. they seem to just migrate to storage areas and left to die. Might be a bit of driving but you may land a deal here as well.

You're going to need to give a lot more information on what you have before anyone can "offer up" if they have anything that matches what you need. You may need to do some research on exactly what you need as well and then contact a prop shop or proper service yard to get pricing. Figure out what you need first and then start the search.

Try marine salvage yards.
It's gonna be tough. Boaters don't get rid of a shaft unless there's something wrong with it (scoring, corrosion), which means it's of no use to you.

the shafts are 58 long single taper and the props shouldbe16x16 with a slight cup. i found shafts at a decent price but the quote i recived for the props seemed really high to me.

I have a 1978 srv300 with chevy 350's, posted inclassic Sea Rays, would this be the same shaft? I found spares on ebay and I run two 4 blade 17x17 props. Do a search on ebay and save the search for 90 days. Ebay automaticly notifies you when someone lists what you are looking for....
