…..we are taught down here that you stay on the back of a wave coming into an inlet don't overtake!

With all due respect Ozzie, you don’t know what you are talking about.

You cannot “stay on the back of a wave coming into……” Jupiter. At Jupiter you have to cross the surf break to get in.

Caption Tom knew this inlet as well as anyone. He was an experienced captain in a capable boat and had navigated this inlet many times.

In my opinion, its just one of those things. Not every accident is due to someone making a mistake.

I will wait until the investigation is complete before I make any other judgment.
