Are any of you familiar with the transient marinas in Milford CT?

Any feedback or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much I was contemplating staying on the hook off of Point Beach but am concerned with seas if we get a southerly breeze

Yes, not a good place to be. Milford harbor is very narrow, but well protected. The last place listed is walking distance to some great shops and food!

There is only one place that has transient slips that I know of, that's Milford Landing. Nice place with clean baths and showers, easy walk to town and restuarants, and an on site ice cream shop. Great people too. No swimming pool, so you may want to think if someplace like Brewers Yacht in Stratford, just one click west. They have a great pool, picnic gezebos, and a great on site restuarant and ice cream shop. And it's just a short cab ride to Milford.

All set at Milford Landing this weekend. Looking forward to it. Any tips on dining, shopping, sightseeing would be appreciated.

You have lots of dining options within walking distance. We like Stonebridge which has a deck for outdoor dining. They also have a large outdoor bar area, but that's for younger folks than I. Southport Brewing Company is great - even for kids. Rainbow Gardens is one of my wife's favorites. For lunch try Liquid Lunch on the south side of the green. They have a dozen or more fresh soups and a variety of sandwiches and salads.
Archie Moore's is a bit more casual and there are several others that I have not tried.

For shopping, there are lots of small shops around the green.

There is a Simon Lake submarine on display at the marina as well as a collection of old anchors (including one that my brother recovered).

Yes, SBC has great food!

If you like wings, Archie Moore's is the place to go.

Ahhhhh, Liquid Lunch. I had no idea there was one in Milford... We go to the one in Shelton at least once a week for lunch.

Going into Milford Harbor, stay to the right of Charles Island!!!

Liquid lunch, up the hill, left at the light, 1 block on left.
Great breakfast place too up the hill, continue downhill under train trestle about 1/4 mile on right side past the big church. I'm not sure of the name but it's worth the walk. We'll be staying at the Milford Yacht Club this weekend, maybe we'll see you at Stonebridge...

In Two Deep, how did your stay go in Milford

Yes We stayed at the Milford Landing Marina and were very impressed. Nice facility, great service even left a newspaper on the swim platfom every morning and it saved me about 45 minutes from going up the river to friends dock on the Housatonic Even met jg300da at the gas dock
