I am looking to buy a 2000 Sea Ray 180 BR with the 3.0.

I have an appointment to check one out this evening. What should I look for.
First of all, they guy says there is no hours clock. Is that true, or was it removed, or does he just not know where to look.

Is there any common problems with this year/model/engine that I should be looking for?

What should I look for when checking it out.

Thanks.

Buying a New Sea Ray 180 Boat

Whenever you buy a boat always make sure the sales agreement is based on your being satisfied with a complete mechanical check out by a shop of your choice a satisfactory water test and a survey by a person of your choice. Of course a survey is normally not done on boats this size, but if you can find a very reliable survey person too the above are cheap insurance. Also be careful of the weight horse power ratio of that boat and motor. If you plan on take a lot of folks out with you or you plan on doing any serious water skiing IE single ski, barefoot, etc you might want to see about the V-6 or a slightly larger boat with a small V-8.
