Well we decided to take a midweek cruise up the river to Catskill because the weather was supposed to be Great and summer is almost over. so we both pretend to be sick and head off. wake up in the morning to this
Well needless to say we were pretty bummed. but I looked at my doppler radar feed on my laptop and it looked like it was going to pass pretty quick. A couple of hours later and it started to clear up.
here we coming up on the LIGHTHOUSE. this is where I almost bought new drives.
To the left of the lighthouse BAD, to the right GOOD.
I tried calling a few marinas on the way to check availability but no one ever answered their phones. So we just arrived and asked when we got there. everyone was swimming in the creek, that's why they didn't answer their phone. here are some pics where we were at.
here are some pics of the town. Never knew this, but Kil is an old Dutch word for river. So everything around NY that has kill at the end was named by this guy.
they were having cat art this week "Catskill" get it....
I guess this guy doesn't answer his phone either.
here's the ride home. 3 hours on the river without seeing one boat. it really felt like we had the whole river to ourselves.
