Anyone going? Maybe we could meet up(before, during or after) and put some faces to the names...

We're planning on going on Saturday, the 16th.

If anyone has any ideas of what to do or anything else going on in the area or would like to get together and tell lies and talk boats, let me know.

Cheers

Is nobody else going? Are we the only ones?! Lol!

Is it not worth it?

I go each year to hang with boating friends and neighbors. It's rebounding more each year, but as far as boat shows go, it's "eh".

If you're new to the area, it's a good time to visit booths of marinas and clubs - most run some kind of pricing special during the show. The beer prices aren't too bad and even on Saturday the crowds are manageable.

If you go on Saturday, be aware that the IX Center hosts other events that can add a LOT of traffic. Several times I've been stuck on 237 looking at the IX Center for over an hour because of the traffic for an RV, home, or bridal show. (the latter is the worst, and I think that's what we're up against this year). If you find yourself in gridlock near the airport, stay as left as possible as all the bridal traffic uses the first entrance. Better yet, approach through the park from the West. There will be no traffic, but your GPS will think you're crazy. You'll have to map it manually first.

+10000!

Its the only sane way to get to the place!

I just printed tickets. If go online and use the promo code "Progressive" they give you $3 off, so $10 ea.

Too late... I already printed out tickets way before I saw this. Thanks for the info though, I'll have to remember that for next year!

Thanks for the great information! We'll(6-8 of us) be coming from Lakewood... Mrs. Strypes and I are checking out North Coast Harbor Marina 1st thing in the morning and then meeting our friends from our marina at the Melt Bar & Grilled in Lakewood for lunch before we all go to the show. I'm not sure yet what's happening for us afterwards, but I'm sure that we'll come up with something!

Cheers

Wow! What a disappointment. Oh well, now I know.

Had to be better than sitting home or in my case going to the boat and stepping right through a open engine hatch because of the obsession called boating.

I would say yes! I hope that you're okay.

It was great to hang out w/ 7 of our boat friends from our marina, but the show, for me, was disappointing.

Just my $0.02.
