I am receiving an alarm on my Mercury Smart Craft that says, "Trim CKT Low" and it indicates the Port Side. Anyone have experience with this issue and what is it actually telling me?

Thanks
Bill

sounds like the trim sender on that side is failing and the variable resistance it sends based on drive position is below the minimum.

does it do it all the time, or only when the trim is fully down?

It does it all the time. I just had the drives off and the mechanic did full service for gimble bearing, u-joint and bellows. They put a full kit in along with shift cable and kit. When I launched I noticed the silent alarm as I indicated in earlier note. I've been out on a run and did not notice any side effects. I did not have an occasion to raise or lower the drives and have not been back at the boat since to actually check them going all the way up and down. The fluid is up in the reservoir.

Did they replace the trim sensor when they did the drive service, they should have.

No unfortunately they did not replace the trim sensor at that time. Could it be producing the error because he didn't realign the sensor with the piston for extended position?

I guess my next question would be, can I leave it this way until next lift out and just be very careful not to over extend the drive while running?
