Mercury 8.1S stumbling after Spring Splash

I'd still move forward with changing your plugs. I'm not sure how old mine were but i was getting 10-15% fuel bure difference. Since the change fuel burn rate has been the exact same.

It's a relatively easy job. The only thing i suggest is to remove the inboard exhaust tubes to allow you access. It was a 3 beer job.

And I changed to these much cheaper champion plugs from the AC Delco's

Plugs were replaced in April so I think I'm good now that I'm running on 8 cylinders. :) According to Smartcraft I'm burning 1 gph more on starboard but I always have, when I fill after a straight run with no genny I take very close to the same on both sides, so not sure why starboard always shows slightly higher.

I do plugs every other year, they come out looking really good but just part of my routine.
