Mercury 3000 classic throttle button

The button broke when taking it out. Three of the four tabs broke off. I ordered a new piece. Should I be looking for the broken pieces inside the unit or do they just fall out?

I wouldn’t worry about it. Just install the new throttle only button.

found the manual. I pushed throttle all the way forward popped the button back in. It's working fine. Thanks for response.
