In my haste to get my boat ready for summer, I inadvertently blew the starter fuse when I incorrectly attached jumper cables to my dead battery. As a result, there is now no electrical power to the instrument gauges and key switch. The trim motor functions fine. After going thru the engine service manual, I did some troubleshooting with a voltmeter/continuity tester and isolated the problem to the starter fuse.

The electrical wiring diagram in the shop manual only shows a 55A fuse between the battery and the starter, however all the online part stores I checked when searching for a replacement part point towards a 90A fuse.

I pulled the bad fuse off the engine and can't seem to find any markings to show its amp rating. Is there a color code associated with the color of the square fuse housing? The color of the fuse removed from the starter is white. I noticed that the same type of fuse on the trim motor is reddish in color. My guess is that the color denotes the amperage rating.

Does anyone know for sure what Amp fuse I need to get to replace the blown one? I believe I have it narrowed down to 79023A90 if it's 90Amp. Thanks in advance for your help!
