Mercruiser IAC Muffler Filter thingy in the throttle body

Do you guys replace your IAC Muffler/Filter/Foam thing every season? I did mine last year and it was filthy black. Helped with idling better after replacement. And quieted down the intake whistling too. For under 10 bucks, I think I'm going to add it to my list of seasonal maintenance.
