Hope you might be able to help. My engine is leaking oil and I suspect its either a hole in the oil pan (I had salt water in bilge a couple years ago) or the remote oil change connection that enables me to drain oil through hose that comes out of drain plug. Either way the engine needs to be pulled. What do you think is a fair price for this repair? thanks!!!

You’re probably looking at 6-8 hours minimum plus parts.

If your access to the starter in the bilge is difficult, replacing the starter with the motor out is a good idea.

Even with easy starter access, I’d at least remove and clean threads on the starter bolts to prevent a future issue.

Thx Espos!! I replaced starter when got water in the bilge. A hose clamp gave way and I had water spraying all over the engine.

I had same done in 2015 on a 2006 260DA. Oil pan had pin holes in it. Total cost 5 years ago for new oil pan and install was $1300.

Does this estimate look right for replacing my oil pan?
Thanks folks!

Seems to be on the high end.

$845 to replace the pan AFTER the motor is out of the boat........at $125/hr that’s like 7 hours.

As stated earlier, I paid $1300 for the same exact work. However, I had the boat on a trailer and took it to them. It appears you are having more work done with a manifold and riser.

It seems awful high to me. Can you get another estimate from a different shop?
