Mercruiser 5.7 250HP Bravo 1

Bought a 1999 Sundancer 270. Changed out the pulleys, manifolds (they had cracked because of overheating). Still having a heck of a time with the belt. When the belt pops off I lose steering and it overheats (belt runs all the pumps). Anybody had this much trouble with the belt coming off? Also sometimes makes a high pitched noise (when it's on LOL). I've spent nearly $5K repairing this engine and it's frustrating. Only has 300 hours. Maybe I need a new mechanic.

Use a 2' straight edge and your crank pulley as a reference. 1 of them pullies isn't on the same plane. Spin each 1 while the belt is off.
