Mercruiser 470 Exhaust relief vents, what is normal?

While running with muffs and lower unit in down position I noticed hot water and hot exhaust blowing out of the starboard vent and only slightly warm exhaust (no water) coming out of the port side vent. Is this normal? There is some exhaust coming out of the prop but no water. Engine was at 1200 rpm.
