Mercmonitor, twin engines, and speedo replacement

I am looking to make a subtle upgrade so up I have additional data available. I currently have the sc1000 gauges and curious if anyone with twins has replaced their speedo with a mermontior? Will it prove data for both engines or do you have to buy two at which point I think I would not do it? Thanks in advance.

Mermonitor should have been mercmonitor. . I like the idea of anything that can help with fuel consumption.

What kind of plotter/GPS do you have? I ask because there is also a Mercury Gateway available now that can convert SC Data to NMEA 2000 for display on a plotter. May want to think about that option as well.

There are a few options:

1. Mercury NMEA 2000 Gateway - takes your data from SC and converts it to NMEA 2000 - about $380 - only one version now - single engine version no longer available.

2. Mercury MercMonitor - Digital Gauge with NMEA 2000 Gateway built in - about $700-$900 for multi engine

3. Mercury VesselView 4 - 4" Engine instrument with NMEA 2000 gateway - can all of the above but 4" touch screen and integrates with Simrad chartplotters for full "glass cockpit" if ever needed - $800-$1200

4. Mercury VesselView 7 - same as above but with 6.4" touch-screen and can with a Mercury "Enabler" GPS become a full chartplotter (almost = Simrad NSS7) About $1500-$2000 and integrates with Simrad Radar's and Sounders and other accessories.

All of the above are built by Simrad for Mercury.

I have VesselView 7 on mine and love it and installed it myself. It integrates with my Simrad NSS8 so both will show the Merc screens - and both can be radar,sounder etc.

And there is no real reason to buy 2 MercMonitors. A single one handles both engines if you buy the right one

But I would seriously consider the VV4 vs the MercMonitor...
