Merc 350 engine issue

So I just picked up my new to me 2003 320 sundancer. Leaving from Annapolis headed to my marina on the Potomac in MD. The starboard side engine stopped at some point while underway. This is my first time driving it or any boat this size. I can't get it to crank. It was attempting to at one point but is now only making a whistling sound when trying to start it. I tried tapping starter, moving shifter to ensure im neutral, letting generator try to charge batteries. Nothing! Im currently still on the water trying to make it on one engine. I'm getting broke in properly this being my first time on a boat this size and my first boat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Have you called the PO for suggestions? Not much to go on, could be a bunch of things. Wiggle the battery terminals ?

PO? Again im new. Yes tried that. Everything is tight.

PO= previous owner. You'll have to get a voltage meter on it when you get to where your going.

Try the link button on the helm between the 2 start switches. Transfers power between engines. If that engine quit at speed you got bigger problems.
