I and my neighbor (who has a 41EC) are planning on bringing our boats down from St. Pete to West Palm in late April, where they will stay until June. We were going to jump over to Old Bahama Bay (West End) on May 12 or 13 and return May 15.

We are also planning a week in the Abacos that will look something like this:

Saturday, May 28: Cross gulf steam and continue on to the Abacos
Saturday night and Sunday night at Treasure Cay
Sunday: Take a shuttle or rental boat to Guana Cay and go to Nippers
Monday: Depart anytime for the 30 minute ride to Green Turtle.
Monday night, Tuesday night at Green Turtle Club - Leave Wednesday for 1 hour ride to Hope Town for lunch.
Wednesday night and Thursday night at Abaco Beach Resort on Marsh Harbor.
Friday: Depart for Grand Bahama
Friday night: Old Bahama Bay
Saturday June 4- Return to Florida- West Palm

If anybody wants to tag along, you are welcome to...

Brian

Hey can you pick me up in NJ?
Good Luck, sounds like a great trip!!! When we do a trip like that we end up in Coney Island!!!!

For those unfamiliar with the Abacos, I found this video:

Would love to, but don't think I can hold enough gas!

I'm looking into one of those fuel bladders, you can get all sizes and capacities. That could up the capacity from 100 gallons to 150-175.:smt100

Where do you dock your boats in West Palm? Do they have short term or transient slips like that? What kind of costs would I be looking at for a slip do you think?

I would be game to bring my boat down from GA but I figure she would need to sit in a slip for a longer period to make it worth the expense of transport.

A 45' wet slip at Soverel is about $840 for the month of May, and that includes power, water and cable. A smaller slip may be a less expensive. There are many places to choose from... we liked Soverel because it is real protected.

You have enough gas to get to the Abacos, I did on my 280. West Palm to West End, fuel up. West End to either Spanish or Green Turtle, fuel up. No problem mon.
Thanks a bunch, some were saying that the 280 didn't have enough, but i agree w/them an extra 50 or so would'nt hurt. thanks for the info!!:smt038 lets all get together and do a trip!! I'm ready as soon as this cold weather lets up!!
