To all with 8.1 SHO and probably 8.1 Horizon engines.
Two weeks had gone by and I had not been down into the ER to look at things. We had been in a two day fishing tournament and then this past weekend we cruised to South Haven, MI. I decided to check fluids, etc. and upon climbing into the ER I discovered some black plastic on the floor. Further investigation showed that a bundle of wires had worked their way downward and came to rest on the exhaust manifold where it connects to the block. In this pic I had already moved the wires:

If you follow the spark plug wires up from the front of the exhaust you can pick out the melted wires. There is a bracket bolted on the front of the head that I was able to secure the harness to after repairs with a zip tie. Black of course to match the engine. Then I secured the port harness.
I don't like the fact that this happened and wanted to inform others of this hazardous issue.
