Maybe to small...

Not too small to have fun, but full camper canvas required here in the NW. a cooler and a clamp on barbie are nice, but all dinners shoreside for us. I am with Westie above; don't miss the TV. don't have much room anyway, but I must admit we bring the laptop sometimes. and books, magazines and booze.

I had a similar sized boat to your 215 from a different brand, and love it. We had it for a season, and only moved up to get the creature comforts and more room a cruiser has. For the price it would have been foolish not to do it. On our cuddy we packed a duffel bag of clothes, a bag of dry/snack food, and then the cooler packed full of drinks and refrigerated items. We routinely did overnights with my wife and son (5 year old) without a problem. It was just a pain to move everything around to use the portipotti but it worked. Now that we have a cruiser, its less of pain, and more of a joy!

I too have a 215EC mine is a '99' . Have had it for 5 years.
I know nothing about the inter-coastal because my I do my boating in Lake Wawasee , IN. It's a great boating lake good for crusing, overnighting and partying. We love our 215 its great for what we do. Very dependable. We would like to have a larger Sea Ray But with today's economy ours is just right.

we started with a 26 overnighter it got small real fast. the next seasion went to a 37 dancer. Again at first was a bit intiminated at the helm then again became small after 2 seasions.Next was our 40 dancer with diesels..... again 2 seasions later it became small to us.Next was our 45 express bridge..... u guessed it ....only it took 3 seasions for us to out grow. so once again up we went. which brings us to our current 56 sedan bridge. this will be our 5th seasion with her.only now our oldest daughter( in coll.) has less intrest and time to spend with the rest of the family and sometimes is more than we need but im not going back down that ladder. My sales man George Smith with marinemax now has a Doctor in the family. His son.... lol ... do you think i can get away trying to claim him as a dependent on my taxes this year..... so do yourself a favor and save yourself a ton of money and go big now!!!! good luck

hey, we started with a 250 sundancer and a trailer (never again) we have three kids tried overnighters and after two months sold it and got a 320 sundancer still too small, kids want and need to take the entire house with them and friends etc. i understand you take what you need but they do shrink fast. another good thing about a larger boat is the option of a gen set.if your on the"hook" you can power up the boat and have all the comforts of home, if not just enjoy the heck out of the boat you have its all for fun right?

:smt038 JOE....WE LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE

Denise & I started out with a 1984 Bayliner 16ft cuddy.
It was a fun little boat we had it for 3 yrs.

I've seen a family of four weekend in the San Juan Islands in a 13 foot Boston Whaler! Kayaks too. So I think it has to do with what YOU want out of boating. We used a 20 foot cuddy for the four of us and a small dog. We used it for 13 years until upgrading to a 250 DA that we used for 8 years. Now, the 300 DA is just right and I anticipate we'll go back DOWN in size once the kids leave the nest.

Hi I recently sold my 200 overnight for a 250 weekender because the 200 was to small we cruised many places and spent the night but i found the cuddy to be to confining it was very low and could bearly sit up without hitting your head with the larger one your able to stand to change clothes ect.. with head room to spare. Its a little clostrifobic in the smaller cuddy.
