Wow...absolutely gorgeous shot and boat. Where was it taken? Just spent 2 weeks in Desolation Sound and regretting not taking the dingy out to at least attempt a pic like that. Looks like framed print of that would be a great addition to any wall.
I am usually moored at Semiahmoo Marina but with the border closed I am at Beach ave Marina under the Burrard street Bridge in False Creek. Really loving the boating season back up here this year as we usually spend a lot of time in the San Jaun islands. I will keep my eyes open for you!!! I see you also bought the dingy I was going to at the boat show. You got the best deal at the show!!
If they ever resurrect the CSR Calendar, my vote is for your picture to be the cover photo. Gorgeous.
How long did you sit in the dingy waiting for the ripples to flatten out?
Right time right place and the eye to know an epic photo when you see it. Its funny that phones "almost" take as good shots as DSLRs for the purpose most people take photos. I love photography and have an older Nikon and some decent glass. I have been holding off updating the camera because I just don't seem to grab the DSLR as much anymore. I do when I want to get serious and creative but not as much. I have more money now than when I bought that so I would go low end pro or high end pro-sumer now. I feel like I would be sinking a lot of money in old tech in order to use good, but old glass. And now the mirrorless APS-C and Micro 4/3 cameras are really good. Time to ditch the classic DSLR??Thanks Creek! I actually didn’t sit there at all. I was bringing the dog back from being walked, moving toward the boat so all ripples and wake were behind me. As I got closer to the boat and looked I thought “oh that looks nice”, whipped out the phone camera (having left the DSLR on the boat) and took several on the fly while in motion ..this was the best. The camera on these iPhone 11’s are pretty darn good!

Some things you just cant do yet with a phone though. My buddy took this photo from the bow of his 560DB one night. Long exposure so you can tell how still it was. In full resolution you can count stars in the milky way.
He's a Canon guy though.
How the heck did you get from the boat to the spot where you took the picture without making a single ripple on the water!!
