Maybe leaving..330 to Formula 41 PC

I had a formula 280SS for several years (trailered it) was a great day boat with the ability to do an overnite if needed. Formulas are well built and it sounds like the boat you are purchasing is just what you want. The Merc 502's are good motors, yes the gassers will burn lots of fuel, just like the gassers on my Searay. What HP are the motors?
I think 420hp??

I don't think you will find the boat underpowered if that is the case. Wont be a speed demon, but the Formula PC's are solid boats.

I grew up in Miami. Back when the Formula plants were based in Ft Lauderdale. They won their notoriety by winning offshore races to Bimini. I love Sea Ray but their intended use and design heritage was never offshore performance.
Whatever debate there may be between the two is apples and oranges.

Officially sold my 330...wow that was A LOT harder than i thought..6 years of memories in that boat with my family. We intended to keep it much longer too. Good friends of ours bought it so it will stay in the family. Now we are STOKED for the 41 PC. Here are some pics of our 330 after I had cleaned and waxed it for the new owners and a few of the 41 PC.

I have experience with the 41PC. It is as others have stated a good sea boat. I used to cruise side by side with one every year when I was running a SR 37 Express with 454s. We could cruise comfortably at the same speed although the Formula had diesels and its owner would slow down about 2 knots so we could stay together. Our comfortable cruise speed was about 24 knots although that would increase as I got lighter with fuel consumption. After 5 hours we would be cruising at 26 knots. The 502s use oil which you may already know. They did this from the time they were brand new right out of the crate. So you always need to have a case of oil on board so you can add when you fuel up. The 41 PC had a known structural issue that should have been fixed on your boat by now. The cockpit floor by the transom door rotted out due to a pin on the transom door bottom that acted as a pivot supporting the door. It went into a female fitting on the floor that was installed through the balsa core. Formula tracked down the owners of the models with this design and visited the storage marinas during layup and fixed them under warranty. The repair involved routering out the balsa, replacing the wood with epoxy around the fitting and then repairing the gel coat. It was not a big deal because the company discovered the issue early on and did the right thing. Something you should check. The boat has a nice layout and is comfortable to live on, although it does have lots of leaky canvas which can be a pain.

The Ft. Lauderdale days of the company were under the leadership of Don Arnnow who started the brand. It was called Thunderbird in those days. I used to run a 23' Thunderbird with twin Volvo 170s that was kept in Ft. Lauderdale. It was named Yellow Bird. Arnnow was murdered by the cartels and the company ended up in Indiana.
